Although we begin to grow a
relationship with God and are praying, asking, and are pleading with God
Himself for help and support, it may not seem as plain and open when we try to hear or see ‘His’ reply.
This has to do with the mortal expectation we may have of how
God’s Spirit talks to us. If we are looking to hear a thundering voice, or an angelic
appearance we will be disappointed. Prayer is talking to God Himself; at
a deeper level than ‘mortal thought’; and listening to ‘His Spirit’ at a depth
of understanding greater than our brain is capable of producing. It comes from
your inward parts, at a depth hidden below your head and above your belly
button; yes, it’s deep inside yourself; and resonates from the ‘bottom of your
heart’
Often that 'response' arrives in unexpected and wonderful ways. For you
not to miss hearing back from ‘Him’, you have to be listening. It is the
listening condition in which you are empty of expectations and are simply
paying attention to whatever subtle hints, dawning light awareness of something
you suddenly perceive, or spiritual light switches that are flipping on, in and around
you.
The primary truth is that you have
to be willing to abandon your own preconceived religious concepts: making yourself empty of old 'style' religious mortal thoughts, doctrines, and guilt. Yes, you have to let go of all preconceived
dogma within yourself to receive direction through prayer.
That is what ‘washing’
the inside of the ‘Cup’ is really about. The best path for that ‘empty’
condition to occur is best found by entering into your ‘secret hiding place’
with God, and closing the door ~ Take nothing else in there . . .
Nothing else: ~ and ~ Immerse yourself in His 'wash-bowl'.
That is the 'Spirit of the law' understanding of 'Water Baptism' / the baptism of John the Baptizer which washes and cleans the inside of your soul from old religious teachings that mortals have always used to trust in, as to How to approach God: and to prepare you to receive what's coming next. Yes, it's exactly what 'Water Baptism' points to.
Which 'is' actually the 'Repentance' that Jesus tells us to act on.
God’s response is never loud, and
for us to receive it, it is necessary to become both an observer of it and a witness to it. We have to
observe without having any objections. With trust we await God’s answer to our heartfelt prayers,
but that needs to be done without preconceived old school religious expectations.
It is like the inward parts of our body
having their own eyes and ears and all we are doing is listening and watching. Listen and watch for any tiny changes that
may be taking place around us. It is often subtle, and it just ‘dawns’ upon us. Most of time, the answer does not come during prayer; but a little later on.
That answer can be from an ongoing experience, like when
you are just talking with someone, or reading something and finding that just one single word; or a few words; or a sentence all of a sudden just ‘high-lights’ itself to us; sometimes it’s a dream or a part of a dream, that for some reason just wants to ‘stand up and shout’.
' It could be anything. '
Toward the understanding;
that when you see it; ‘it catches your 'inward attention' in it's own dignified way’; and at that point, you really do know
that you've got the 'seed' that will grow into the complete answer to what you have been praying about;
Why?
Because the 'seed coat' for your answer to your own 'prayer' has just germinated within you. That 'silent kaboom' generally is not the complete answer in itself (occasionally it is) ~ but often can bring 'sweet tears' to your soul or set off a 'fireworks display' within your Spirit that makes you want to do a 'victory shout' . . . more often though it is something that 'sprouts' even more understanding in the hours ahead.
Yes, we do need to be careful about
what we listen to. ‘It takes a little practice’ to experience and discern what
comes from God and what comes from other origins. But it's no more difficult than when an infant is learning to walk; it does take a short amount of time, but overall, not really that long. This is not a weekend
adventure however, or a short vacation from mortal life ~ it IS the walk that God
intends for each and every day of our life. Yes, it is the teaching and understanding
process from God; Yes, we will all stumble when we begin. But 'God Himself' is
totally capable of correcting us 'Himself', when we 'authentically' trust the ‘Living
Him’.
The purpose of life is 'to live' and be perpetually 'taught and guided' by only
God Himself'
. . . Forever . . .
( as were Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the disciples themselves )
Anything short of that is 'belittling' the 'trust' of the Holy Ghost (the Advocate, the Teacher, The Guide sent by Jesus); and is in danger of making an unacceptable 'cocktail' (by adding leaven to the loaf) of what the Holy Spirit is given to us for the purpose of being 'trusted' in. This is what 'believing' in Jesus is ~ because ~ 'He 'is' the One' who did the things that made it possible. That's why He is the Messiah. That is the New Covenant. The Son of God delivered it, by offering us a baptizing (to refill the inside of our cleaned cup) for those who will Repent of the prior practices of how they used to attempt to approach God ; and to receive the teaching and understanding of The Holy Spirit; in place of that old way.
. . . Yes, that's what the 'Spirit of the Law' points to in being
Baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and The Holy Ghost.
It's not written with Paper and Ink to; 'read about' ~ but it's written in 'Spirit' on the table of your heart. designed to cause the 'heart-beat' in your own soul to rather; 'live' in.
it's the 'daily bread' that comes down from Heaven and goes directly in your "bread-basket"
"your" gut level holy instinct.
The old style of using a 'Non Profit organized Assemblage' designed Question and Answer format in praying does not actually work nearly as well as allowing God to teach you according to what 'He' Himself' knows will become the 'greater' blessing for your life and for your understanding. You will begin to recognize the truth in this as you continue on and grow in 'His' promise.
Science
for example has its sets of 'rules of science';'rules of nature'. Many
wonderful things have been genuinely discovered in the interest of science
because someone with 'integrity' decided to listen to their 'guts' and color outside the box of those
resistant rules.
Non-Prophet organized Assemblage (Religion), like science has it's sets of rules (they call them doctrines)
and many wonderful things have been also
done in the name of God Himself because someone with 'holy integrity' decided to listen to their 'guts' and color outside the box of those resistant religious doctrines and traditions.
There is a 'holy~truth' in Regard to 'Our Creator' but the clothing of
'Non-Prophet organized Assemblage' (Religion) and 'Science' will always hamper ; truly discovering that
'Truth'.
There is one last "very weighty measure" to consider in prayer that needs to be added to this. Those times we do not seem to receive an answer . . . there is only one reason we don't . . . That is because when we ask; we ask 'amiss'. To correct that issue it becomes necessary to first take time to consider this: What is the 'stuff' that we could assume is honestly more important and foremost in the things that Our Father in Heaven would rather desire that we seek from 'Him" at heart?
Example; is it about wishing for the things we think necessary to sustain the basic needs of our life that God doesn't know about? . . . or additional things we don't really need, but desire to obtain anyhow? . . . or who or what group or person we can bond with to help us understand 'Him' better . . . Is 'trinity' doctrine correct or should I believe something different? . . . Which is the best 'church' for me to attend? . . .etc
No, that stuff is not even close . . .'He' already knows about all of those kinds of needs, and they will be taken care of 'automatically'; when we accomplish Repenting
'His Way' : not the 'Non-Profit organized Assemblage' way.
We first need to consider the deeper, unvirtuous, deficiencies that 'we' ourselves have become numb to, but are quite obvious and important to 'Him'.
No, I'm not referring to our 'Letter of the law' Infractions; but rather pointing to examining our own lack of desire for understanding our own failure in thirsting for the 'Spirit of the law'.
The 'conclusion'
~ unless the 'seed of Adam' 're-germinates' of the Water, and of the Spirit ~
it is not possible to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
